President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, receiving a report from Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, touched upon the issue of cooperation with Kazakhstan in the aviation sector, BELTA correspondent reports.

One of the issues raised by the head of state was the transit of private airlines from Kazakhstan through Belarus.

"Our aircraft are not serviced or refueled there. Russian aircraft, exactly the same ones, are refueled and serviced, but Belarusian ones are not," the President noted. "The situation needs to be rectified. This issue has now been placed under special control." 

In the current situation, Belarus must have absolutely clear priorities, the head of state is confident. "We need to protect and observe our interests," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "If they coincide with other countries, that's good. If they don't coincide, we look for a compromise. That is, in a human way. Because Kazakhstan is not a foreign country to us. It is a country with which we are in the EAEU. We have always had good relations with Kazakhstan. We should not spoil these relations. But we must protect our interests."
