On the eve of Science Day, innovators and developers of unique technologies from the Gomel region received awards and prizes
Talented students, educators, and industry professionals were honored at the Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace.
The recipients of diplomas and awards were the winners of the regional competition among young scientists and authors of experimental developments for their scientific research in the fields of natural, technical, humanitarian, and social sciences. Awards were also presented to research teams and educational institutions engaged in innovative activities.
This is a celebration for both very young innovators and researchers who are successfully implementing their developments in the "100 Ideas for Belarus" competition, as well as for experienced researchers, emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Ivan Krupko:
— Our gratitude to everyone present. If science is strong, there will be a technological breakthrough, modern industries, high culture, and a healthy society.
There is a special attitude towards young, promising scientists in the Gomel region, which is reflected, among other things, in the establishment of a special annual award by the Regional Executive Committee. In its almost a quarter-century existence, about 230 young scientists and specialists have become its recipients.
— Investment in science is a key condition for the country's development. Much is being done in our country to support scientists, and Belarusian society has embraced an innovative development path. And it is especially important within the five-year plan for quality to implement scientific developments in production, – emphasized Ekaterina Zenkevich, member of the Council of the Republic, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, at the ceremony.
Awards from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Health, and the city and district executive committees also found their recipients.
