Inflicted blows on internal affairs officers to obstruct their lawful activities: Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor's Office sent criminal case to court

    The Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor's Office has sent a criminal case to court regarding the use of violence against officers of the district internal affairs department.

    According to the case materials, in June of this year, local resident P. was detained by police officers for committing an administrative offense while intoxicated and was taken to the district department. While in the room for questioning of those brought in, with the aim of obstructing the lawful activities of internal affairs officers M. and P., he inflicted at least 4 kicks on them, causing physical pain and beatings.

    After reviewing the materials of the criminal case, the district prosecutor's office concluded that the charges were substantiated and the circumstances of the crime were objectively investigated. They agreed with the qualification of P.'s actions under Article 364 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

    The criminal case was handled by the Beshenkovichi District Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

    The prosecutor, when sending the case to court, left unchanged the previously chosen preventive measure against P. in the form of detention.

    The accused faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to seven years.
