Don't fall for scammers' tricks!
Remember:
- Law enforcement officers and government organizations NEVER CALL via MESSENGERS! (exceptions apply if you have personally provided your contact number to an employee and know them personally).
- under no circumstances should you disclose personal (passport) data, bank card numbers, or one-time passwords received on your mobile phone over the phone;
- the mobile operator's application should only be downloaded from "Google Play", "App Store", "App Gallery" stores, not from links sent to you by strangers;
- never take out loans at the request or demand of third parties;
- do not conduct any monetary transactions through ATMs or online banking systems based on instructions received by phone or messenger.
If you receive a suspicious call, immediately end the conversation and contact the police by dialing "102".
Most common criminal schemes:
A call is received via messenger (Telegram, Viber), the caller introduces themselves as:
1. A police officer, investigator (employeeother law enforcement agencies), you are being persuaded:
- a relative or other close person caused a road traffic accident, and to avoid criminal liability, it is necessary to urgently transfer money to the victim through a courier;
- to participate in an operation to expose criminals who have taken out a loan in your name, for which purpose you need to transfer your money to a "safe" account, or take out a loan (for remote assistance, provide your personal data, and the code received on your phone);
2. A bank employee, a representative of a mobile operator, home telephony, or an internet service provider (RUE "Beltelecom" etc.) is trying to persuade you:
- to transfer (remit) your money to a bank representative for its declaration;
- to re-conclude (update) service agreements (mobile/landline communication, internet access, etc.) by following a link sent by the scammer to install an application (remember, agreements for such services are usually indefinite);
Advertisements on the internet offering to invest (use) your savings with income on "extremely favorable" terms (innovative earning methods, stock market earnings, cryptocurrency acquisition, investments with increased profitability on accounts and deposits).
Purchase of goods on the internet at a price below market value, including the transfer of prepayment to the seller for hisbookings.
Messages (advertisements, calls) about winning a lottery (or other drawing) with the condition that money must be transferred in advance to receive it.
Be vigilant! This knowledge will help save your money!
