Improper performance of official duties by the chief engineer resulted in damage to state property on an especially large scale: the prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District initiated a criminal case

The prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District, after reviewing the materials of the pre-investigation check, initiated a criminal case against the chief engineer of one of the district's agricultural enterprises – he was charged with improper performance of his official duties due to negligent attitude to service, which inadvertently caused damage to state property on an especially large scale.

According to the case materials, the chief engineer, in violation of his official duties, failed to organize the proper operation of the agricultural enterprise's oil depot, which led to the untimely detection of a leak in the fuel pipeline, from which, in the period from 10.06.2022 to 11.06.2022, at least 31,050 liters of diesel fuel with a total value of at least 67,440 rubles, purchased by the agricultural enterprise at the expense of a budget loan, leaked to the area adjacent to the oil depot.

The illegal actions of the person are qualified under Part 1 of Article 428 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the sanction of which provides for punishment in the form of restriction of liberty for a period of two to five years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities, or deprivation of liberty for a period of up to five years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities.

For the organization of the preliminary investigation, the criminal case was transferred to the Beshenkovichi District Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
