Beshenkovichi Central District Hospital invites you to join the campaign «Nature without pharmaceutical waste»
The "Nature Without Pharmaceutical Waste" campaign is taking place at the Beshenkovichi Central District Hospital from November 1 to 10. During these days, every resident of the district can bring expired medications to the hospital's reception area, which will then be transferred to a specialized organization for safe disposal.
- We all buy medications periodically, - notes Ekaterina Kurnosova, head nurse of the Central District Hospital, - and in every home medicine cabinet, you can probably find medications that have expired. Most often, during spring cleaning or inventory, housewives throw away expired medications... into the landfill. Thus, we allow them to end up in landfills, in wastewater, rivers, and lakes of our country. It has been proven that the presence of pharmaceuticals in the environment can lead to reproductive problems in amphibians and fish, and changes in animal behavior. The entry of medication residues into drinking water can negatively affect human health.
