Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers and the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee Signed a New Cooperation Agreement
The Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers and the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee signed a cooperation agreement for 2025-2028. The document includes commitments concerning all areas of joint work. The agreement was signed by Vladimir Plytkevich, Chairman of the Regional Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers, and Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee.
The main areas fixed in the document are aimed at protecting the labor and socio-economic rights of trade union members.
– One of the most significant achievements, and this initiative is supported by the regional healthcare department, is that under the contract, everyone working in the healthcare sector receives a minimum bonus of 30%, – noted Vladimir Plytkevich. – Support also extends to youth, children's health improvement, and training. A whole set of provisions is related to contract extension issues. For example, if a person has three years left until retirement, their contract is extended for at least three years; if a working pensioner has a minor child pursuing higher or secondary education, their contract is not terminated. Among the innovations is also the fact that notification of reorganizations occurs three months in advance. The agreement will be valid for three years, and each new such document is better than the previous one.
Key points include the creation of optimal conditions for the stable operation of labor collectives, the development of human resources potential, and the maintenance and increase of employee wages, taking into account the current remuneration system in the industry.
– The next agreement, signed today with the regional trade union committee of healthcare workers, is primarily aimed at defending the rights of our workers, not only medical professionals but everyone employed in the healthcare sector, – emphasized Mikhail Vishnevetsky. – While adhering to the existing parameters of the agreement, we are introducing new ones. They concern the protection of interests and the integration of young specialists into the profession, as well as mentorship as a crucial factor of support in the initial stages. Measures to enhance the effectiveness of social support for young specialists are also envisioned. The sector must operate efficiently, rhythmically, and uniformly. To achieve this, it is necessary for the people employed in it not only to have job security but also to value the conditions created for them.
