New school uniforms from domestic manufacturers were presented in Vitebsk
A fashion show of school uniforms was held in Vitebsk, a BELTA correspondent reports.
Collections were presented by enterprises that are part of the "Bellegprom" concern and private companies. The new items were demonstrated by schoolchildren from educational institutions of the Pervomaisky district of Vitebsk. As noted in the regional education department, from the 2023-2024 academic year, all schools and gymnasiums in the northern region will introduce uniforms. Starting in September of this year, they will feature unifying elements. What exactly these will be will be determined by the students, parents, and teachers of a specific institution.
Parents are not restricted in their choice of school uniforms; they can purchase items from any manufacturer for their child. The main requirement is compliance with the color scheme characteristic of the institution. "The institution's logo or emblem will be applied as a distinguishing element. This is introduced so that students look like one team, are proud of their institution, and promote its ideas, creative achievements, and innovations. This does not mean identical uniforms for everyone. Schools and gymnasiums will choose the color, fabric texture, and set themselves. There may even be differences for the first, second, and third levels of education, to make it immediately clear where the primary grades are, and where the middle or high school students are," noted Elena Bogdanovich, First Deputy Head of the Main Education Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, emphasizing the importance of using a unifying element in the wardrobe of educators as well.

Schools and gymnasiums in the Pervomaysky district of Vitebsk have demonstrated their experience in introducing a uniform for students. "We introduced a business style from the very beginning of the educational institution's opening. Each class had its own tie color, which the class determined itself at a meeting of the parent committee, taking into account the students' choices. Over time, we came to the conclusion that a single tie, which distinguishes and unites us, has become an integral part of the school uniform. Starting this year, we plan to switch to a single school uniform color; we will keep the tie and the school emblem as a patch. Gray is intended for primary and senior school, blue for middle school," said Irina Astapenko, principal of School No. 46 in Vitebsk named after I. Kh. Bagramyan.
A total of 314 schools and gymnasiums in the Vitebsk region will open their doors to students this autumn. A quarter of them already use a business style in their clothing and distinctive elements.
