Vladislav Tatarinovich Appointed as New Minister of Finance of Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Vladislav Tatarinovich as the Minister of Finance of Belarus, a BELTA correspondent reports.

Until now, Vladislav Tatarinovich held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

"He is a "money man." He knows financial work well. And I feel that it was somewhat cramped for him in parliament. It might not even be his place or his business. So I thought, let's try him in a specific, but familiar role. He comes entirely from the financial sector – he worked in the Ministry of Finance," the head of state noted.

"The man knows and understands the subject. Why not use his knowledge? I sincerely hope that Vladislav Vikentyevich, while he works here, will train good students who will grow alongside him. And we will always be able to offer this job to his students if necessary, when nominating him for a new position," the Belarusian leader advised.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that the candidacy of Vladislav Tatarinovich was also recommended and positively assessed by the previous minister, Yuri Seliverstov, who was appointed as the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia. "If it's positive, then the person can work as Minister of Finance," said the head of state. "In general, he loves money, he knows how to count it – state money. And I am confident that he will sacredly guard every kopeck and will not squander this money."

Vladislav Tatarinovich was born in June 1971 in the village of Selishche, Minsk region. He graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University and the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus. He worked in the Ministry of Finance of Belarus in various positions. In 2001, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Main Department - Head of the Tax Policy Department of the Main Department of Tax Policy and Budget Revenue, and in 2009, Deputy Minister of Finance.
