One of the most important areas of the state's social policy is the protection of childhood, ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of minors and students. Issues of drug addiction prevention among young people continue to be particularly relevant.

An assistant prosecutor of the Beshenkovichi district, S.A. Kiryanov, together with the psychiatrist-narcologist of the Healthcare Institution "Beshenkovichi Central District Hospital," M.A. Krutilina, held a meeting with students and teachers of the Educational Institution "Ulla State Professional Lyceum of Agricultural Production named after L.M. Dovator," during which the students were informed about the negative consequences of drug use for an individual's personality and health.

One of the most dangerous effects of drugs on the body is their ability to quickly form a strong dependence of a person's condition, their physical and mental well-being, on the drug, and to change their entire life.

Medical consequences of drug use: mental disorders (hallucinations, delusions, persecution), high suicidal risk, toxic damage to organs and body systems, infectious diseases (HIV, AIDS, hepatitis B and C), sexually transmitted infections, overdose, tuberculosis, premature mortality.

Social consequences: personality changes (mental emptiness, reduced interests, impoverished emotions), distorted family ties, threat to the health of future generations, committing crimes.

The main external signs of a teenager using drugs include:

1. Appearance and behavior: the user's face does not match the surroundings, resembles alcoholic intoxication, but there is no smell of alcohol from the mouth.

2. Eyes: do not react to light, are red, have an unnatural shine, pupils are severely constricted or dilated, involuntary eye and eyelid movements appear.

3. Skin changes: pallor of the face and all skin or excessive redness of the face and upper torso, presence of pustules on the skin.

4. Speech changes: speech becomes uncharacteristic for this person, accelerated, emphatically expressive, inconsistent, jumping from topic to topic, or slowed, indistinct and unclear ("mumbling"), hoarseness of voice, use of drug addict jargon.

5. Changes in appearance: wearing long-sleeved shirts in hot weather to hide injection marks on the arms, wearing dark glasses to hide dilated or constricted pupils.

6. Mood changes: clearly inappropriate for the specific situation: apathy (indifference), depression, drowsiness, complacency or causeless cheerfulness, giggling,

need to talk a lot, sharp unmotivated mood swings.

7. Changes in motor activity: increased gesticulation, excessive movements, restlessness or immobility, sluggishness, relaxation.

8. Impaired coordination of movement: impaired clarity and sequence of actions, staggering and unsteadiness when walking, swaying of the torso even when sitting (especially evident with closed eyes), changes in handwriting, difficulties in performing tasks.

9. Changes in fluid balance: increased sweating and salivation or, conversely, dry mouth, dry lips.

10. Uncharacteristic odors from the mouth, hair, and clothes (smell of medicines and other chemicals, sweetish smell similar to incense, caraway, mint, smell of glue, solvent).

11. Changes in physique: sudden weight loss, loss of appetite or excessive food consumption, digestive disorders.

In conclusion, it should be noted that children's attitude towards the problem of drugs largely depends on family relationships. Goodwill and family support help to foster a sense of self-worth, self-confidence, and the ability to stand up for their opinion in children.

The best immunity to drugs is an optimistic, active, purposeful, and constructive life position.
