The State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora under the President of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the State Inspectorate) will conduct a special comprehensive event "Spawning" (hereinafter referred to as SCE "Spawning") in the Vitebsk region from April 10 to June 8, 2025. The main objectives of this event are defined as follows:
Strengthening control over the compliance of citizens and legal entities with the requirements of legislation in the fishing grounds of the Republic of Belarus;
Removing nets and other prohibited fishing gear from illegal circulation.
In view of the foregoing, I request that personnel be oriented towards signs of possible violations of environmental legislation, as well as to provide assistance in conducting joint events, within the framework of which attention should be paid to:
The presence of information about nets and other prohibited fishing gear stored by citizens, as well as about their sale locations;
The presence of information about cases of poaching, specifically illegal fishing with prohibited fishing gear in the fishing grounds of the Vitebsk region;
The presence of nets, other prohibited fishing gear, as well as fish showing signs of being caught by prohibited methods (entanglement, punctures, torn wounds, etc.) in citizens' vehicles.
