On targeted admission in 2023

By Order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus dated April 27, 2023 No. 216 "On establishing the number of places for targeted training in educational institutions in 2023", the number of places for targeted training of specialists and workers in 2023 has been established.

   Targeted training is of great interest to graduates. At the very beginning, at the admission stage, the applicant sees their employer and knows where they will go and can receive additional benefits. Further, after admission, they individualize their training process through internships, through the completion of coursework and thesis work for the needs of a specific customer.

   The number of places for education under targeted training programs is communicated to applicants, customers, and educational institutions by May 1 (by June 1 for pedagogical specialties). This information for specific specialties (indicating the organizations that are customers of personnel) will be posted on the websites of higher education institutions. To be eligible to participate in the competition for higher education under targeted training, an applicant must conclude a contract for targeted training of a specialist with the customer organization.

 For applicants applying for higher education under targeted training, the following deadlines are established:

submission of documents and interviews with applicants specified in paragraphs sixteen to eighteen and twenty of part one of clause 24 of the Rules, - from June 1 to June 5;

conducting entrance examinations - from June 6 to June 13;

enrollment - by June 16.

To participate in the competition for higher education under a targeted training program, the applicant submits the documents established by the Rules for admission of persons to obtain general higher and specialized higher education, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of January 27, 2022 No. 23:

a contract for targeted specialist training;

a medical certificate;

a recommendation from the last place of work (service) or the pedagogical council of the educational institution that the applicant graduated from;

an identity document;

a character reference issued by an institution of general secondary education or an institution implementing educational programs of vocational-technical or secondary specialized education (for persons who have obtained general secondary, vocational-technical education, or secondary specialized education in the year of admission to higher education institutions);

documents on benefits (if any);

document on education.

   At the same time, persons studying in the 11th grade of an institution implementing general secondary education programs in the year of admission to higher education institutions, as well as persons obtaining vocational-technical education with general secondary education or vocational-technical education based on general secondary education or secondary specialized education in the final year in the year of admission to higher education institutions, submit the document on education to the admissions committee no later than June 15.

   The admission rules stipulate that applicants applying under a targeted contract undergo one internal entrance examination in oral or practical form at the higher education institution in the academic subject that is defined as the subject of the first profile test (an entrance examination in practical form is conducted for specialties for which the disciplines "Creativity" and "Physical Culture and Sports" are defined as profile tests). The competition will be based on the sum of the average score of the document on education and the score obtained in the internal entrance examination.

    Questions for internal testing in higher education institutions are formed based on questions developed by the National Institute of Education, which are posted on the website of the Ministry of Education.

    Applicants who do not pass the competition for higher education under targeted training programs are eligible to participate in the competition on a general basis (it is necessary to provide certificates of centralized examination (CE) and centralized testing (CT)).

  Additional information on admission for higher education under targeted training programs can be obtained from the admissions committees of higher education institutions.
