On ensuring the safety of citizens during the winter period when using tubing

Recently, tubing has become one of the most popular types of active winter recreation for adults and children.

However, it is a very dangerous type of winter recreation.

To prevent injuries and accidents while tubing, it is necessary to observe certain safety rules.

The most important rule is that when tubing, the head, tailbone, knees, and wrists must be protected. For this purpose, protective equipment should be used (helmet, protective shorts, knee pads, special gloves).

When tubing, it is recommended to use protective equipment as when skiing and snowboarding.

In addition, when tubing, you should know and observe the following safety measures:

Before tubing, it is necessary to check the integrity of the tube (bottom, seams, handles, inner tube);

tube only in safe areas: on slopes without steep inclines; in the absence of obstacles (poles, fences, trees, bushes, stones, buildings, etc.) on the slope and in its immediate vicinity (along and at the bottom); if there is enough space at the bottom of the slope for braking. Such obstacles can damage the tube and (or), when speed increases, cause a sharp uncontrolled change in the trajectory of motion;

descent can only be started when there are no other people in the tubing area;

tubing on the same slope simultaneously with people on sleds (metal, plastic, wooden), snowmobiles, and using other equipment can lead to injuries and damage to the tube;

it is dangerous to use the tube by several people simultaneously (several people sitting in the tube), as when speed increases, there is a risk of falling out of the tube;

Children should not be allowed to ride alone;

children under 6 years of age are recommended to ride only accompanied by one adult on one large diameter tube of appropriate load capacity;

you should ride in a sitting position: riding lying down, standing or jumping reduces the ability to control speed and trajectory of movement and creates additional risks of injury;

during the descent, hold firmly onto the handles of the tube, do not make sudden body movements;

do not jump off the tube while it is moving;

riding a tube while in a state of alcohol, drug or toxic intoxication reduces the ability to control speed and trajectory of movement and creates additional risks of injury;

it is forbidden to tow tubing with vehicles;

in case of an accident, first aid must be provided and, depending on the situation, medical assistance and (or) rescuers (employees
