Fuel supply during the sowing campaign
Timely and uninterrupted supply of fuel and lubricants to farms, as well as their conservation and safety, is a crucial component for the successful completion of the sowing campaign.
In anticipation of peak loads on transport due to spring field work, management and specialists of enterprises should pay special attention to the technical condition of vehicles transporting dangerous goods, including: supporting and fastening elements of tanks, wheels and tires, the condition of electrical wiring and its protection, the operability of grounding devices, and fire extinguishing equipment. Timely and high-quality maintenance of vehicles and special tank equipment is also of significant importance.
While timely delivery of fuel and lubricants is important and necessary, it is equally important to organize safe loading and unloading operations with fuel and lubricants, including measures for protection against static electricity.
Considering the properties of dangerous goods, the environmental aspect is of particular importance. The impact of hazardous substances transported by various modes of transport on the environment can cause irreversible changes and even the death of flora and fauna. Deviations from ecological balance are particularly noticeable when incidents (accidents) with dangerous goods occur. For example, pollution of rivers and soil due to oil spills, death or illness of animals due to chemical substances entering wastewater, destruction of forest areas as a result of fires caused by the transportation of flammable liquids, etc.
Thus, strict control over the transportation of dangerous goods, careful and responsible attitude of all participants in the transportation process are necessary. It is necessary to constantly monitor the safety of transportation and strictly adhere to the Rules for ensuring the safety of transportation of dangerous goods by road and fire safety measures.
