"Memory of Generations" - a joint creative project of the district prosecutor's office and the State Educational Institution "Rzhavsky Kindergarten - Basic School" officially launched in Beshenkovichi District

    In Beshenkovichi District, a joint creative project of the district prosecutor's office and the State Educational Institution "Rzhavsky Kindergarten - Basic School" has been launched. The main goal of the project is to create an interactive map of the district, which will display burial sites of civilians (war victims), both accounted for (with existing passports) and unaccounted for, identified by the district prosecutor's office during the investigation of a criminal case initiated on the fact of genocide of the Belarusian population during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and in the post-war period. The interactive map will include information provided by the district prosecutor's office, including the exact locations of war victim burials (by marked coordinates), photographs from these locations, and their descriptions. The interactive map will be compiled directly by children who expressed a desire to participate in the creative work.     During the opening, the children proposed to name the creative project "Memory of Generations," which was supported by all participants.  Sergey Kiryanov, Assistant Prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District, who was present at the opening of the creative project, told the children about the goals of this project and the results of the investigation of the criminal case on the fact of genocide of the population. The children were particularly interested in the information about the terrible events of the war that took place in the district, recounted during interrogations by both direct eyewitnesses of those events and their relatives.       The results of the work are planned to be summarized in early September of this year.    For reference: during the investigation of the criminal case, the district prosecutor's office identified 5 previously unaccounted for burial sites of war victims. These burials are located near the villages of Chanovichi, Ozerki, Sloboda, the agro-town of Bocheikovo, and in the urban settlement of Beshenkovichi near the "Old Marienfeld" estate. In addition, it was established that there were prisoner-of-war camps in Ulla and Beshenkovichi, where about 1,700 people were tortured to death and shot by the invaders. More than 1,200 residents of the district were driven to forced labor in Germany. In total, according to archival data, during the occupation of the district by German-fascist invaders, about 8,500 civilians were killed on its territory.
