First Flowers. Let's Take Care of Their Preservation!

  The time for first flowers has begun, so we remind you that their mass collection undermines population numbers and their ability to vegetate. For future generations to be able to admire these plants, we need to take care of their preservation.

   Unfortunately, some first flowers are already endangered. They are listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus and are protected by the state. Here are some of them:

Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla pratensis), 

Open Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla patens), 

Marsh Violet (Viola uliginosa), 

Wood Anemone (Anemone sylvestris), 

Wild Garlic (Allium ursinum), 

Goose Onion (Gagea spathacea).

   We inform you that Article 24 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Plant World" prohibits unauthorized removal of wild plants belonging to species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus from their natural habitat, their illegal trade, as well as other actions that may lead to their death, reduction in numbers, or disruption of their habitat.

  In accordance with Article 16.8 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses, unauthorized removal or destruction of wild plants belonging to species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus and their parts, or other actions that may lead to the death of wild plants, reduction in their numbers, or disruption of their habitat, entail a fine for individuals ranging from twenty to thirty basic units.

   In addition, for the destruction or damage of one herbaceous plant, a compensation rate for environmental damage has been established at 5 basic units.
