The First Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan
The Forum will be held as part of the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Belarus.
Representatives of regions, ministries and departments, parliamentarians, and business circles of the two countries will take part in the Forum. The delegation of Uzbekistan at the Forum will be headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sodik Safayev. The Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan, Samarkand, Khorezm, Fergana, and Tashkent regions will be represented from the Uzbek side.
The Forum program includes three sections: on cooperation in industrial cooperation, the agro-industrial complex, as well as in humanitarian, information and communication, and scientific fields. Thematic exhibitions will be held within the framework of the sections.
The main topic of the plenary session will be regional cooperation as a key factor in the development of interstate relations.
Approximately 15 interregional cooperation agreements, as well as commercial contracts, will be signed at the Forum venues.
Guests and participants of the Forum will be able to familiarize themselves with the exhibition-fair of Uzbek goods. As part of the Forum, a bust monument to the Uzbek poet Alisher Navoi will be unveiled in Minsk.
