Plus one hectare. The Vitebsk region joined the republican campaign "Give the forest new life"
- Traditionally, we are accustomed to planting forests in the spring. This year, our President set the tone for an autumn campaign. One of the reasons is the hurricane that struck us in the summer. At that time, the epicenter of windbreaks and fallen trees was Gomel region. In our region, more than a hundred hectares of forest were felled. The misfortune that occurred stimulated us to pay even closer attention to forest renewal, - emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin.
The head of the region noted that although the area of restored forest is small – one hectare – thousands of trees were planted on it, and they will bring joy to future generations.
- It is gratifying that no one has to be asked to participate in the campaign; people themselves gladly go to the forest to plant trees. Such events allow the team to change the environment, work together, communicate, and become closer – to become even more monolithic, - emphasized Alexander Subbotin.
The General Director of Vitebsk GPLKHO, Yuri Lipsky, reported that the employees of the regional executive committee worked productively:
- These are experienced people who know how to properly establish forest crops. Before the campaign began, we showed the results of forest restoration from last and позапрошлого years. These include areas where the employees of the regional executive committee worked.
Recall that from October 12, a republican voluntary campaign "Give the Forest New Life" is being held in the country. It was personally launched by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a working trip to his small homeland in the Shklovsky district. The campaign is aimed at restoring forest areas affected by the hurricane.
