At the suit of the Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor, over 11,000 rubles were recovered from the culpable officials in favor of the agricultural enterprise for the shortage of 55 head of cattle

The District Prosecutor's Office established that from January to April of last year, there was a loss of cattle at one of the district's agricultural enterprises. However, the enterprise's officials did not draw up any documents regarding the loss, and no information was entered into the reports on the movement of livestock and poultry. Thus, the foremen of the production brigades, the chief zootechnician, and the chief veterinarian concealed the fact of the loss itself, thereby violating their official duties regarding documentation, accounting, and established reporting on livestock farming, and careful handling of the employer's property.

Given that no relevant documents were drawn up, it is impossible to ascertain the true cause of the loss. The animal carcasses were disposed of without documentation.

Thus, the absence of the specified cattle population constituted a shortage for the employer.

Reference: according to clause 5 of Article 404 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Belarus, employees bear full material liability for damages caused to the employer through their fault, in cases where the damage is caused by a shortage.

By court decision, the claims of the District Prosecutor were satisfied, and over 11,000 rubles were recovered from the culpable officials in favor of the agricultural enterprise.

The court decision has not entered into legal force and may be appealed and protested.
