Following the Prosecutor's Office of Beshenkovichi District's Request, the Information Products of the Telegram Channel "SHTO DUMAYUTS BELARUSY" Have Been Declared Extremist

The District Prosecutor's Office analyzed the information messages posted on the Telegram channel "SHTO DUMAYUTS BELARUSY."

It was established that since its creation (20.09.2021) and up to the present, the specified Telegram channel has been publishing messages containing calls for extremist activities, deliberately false information about the political, economic, military, and international situation of the Republic of Belarus, discrediting the Republic of Belarus, aimed at organizing and carrying out mass riots, assisting in extremist activities, disseminating extremist materials, obstructing the lawful activities of state bodies, inciting political and ideological hatred, financing extremist activities, violently changing the constitutional order, discrediting state authorities and administration, as well as public calls for and public justification of such actions.

Access to the specified resource was available without hindrance or restrictions to any citizen using the Internet and the Telegram messenger. The administration of this channel did not take systemic actions to block or counteract publications of an extremist nature.

Based on the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Counteracting Extremism," the prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District filed a request with the court to declare the information products of the Telegram channel "SHTO DUMAYUTS BELARUSY" as extremist materials.

The Beshenkovichi District Court granted the district prosecutor's request and allowed the immediate execution of the adopted decision. A copy of the court decision was sent to the Ministry of Information for inclusion in the republican list of extremist materials and for blocking the Internet resource that facilitates the dissemination of extremist materials on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
