Recipients of social benefits must open a basic account by June 20

From July 1, 2025, pensions and child benefits administered by social protection agencies, as well as unemployment benefits, benefits for caring for disabled persons, targeted social assistance, payments to caregivers in foster families, and payments for the birth of twins, will be transferred exclusively to basic accounts.

"Therefore, those who do not have such an account must contact one of the nine banks and open a basic account or re-register their current (settlement) account as a basic one," notes Elena Ovichinnikova, Head of the Department of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the District Executive Committee. "To receive payments on time in July, this must be done before June 20."
