Assistant Prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District, Egor Romanovich, participated in a round table meeting on the topic: "Preventing violence against minors and protecting the sexual integrity of children"
Sexual violence committed against a child leads to severe psychological trauma that disorganizes their mental activity, remains in their memory for a long time, affecting self-esteem, development, and the nature of future interpersonal relationships, and thus impacting the child's entire subsequent life.
That is why the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of minors is one of the main priorities of the state.
To enhance the professional competence of foster parents, guardians (custodians) in preventing and identifying child abuse, and to implement the National Mechanism for Assisting Minors Affected by Sexual Violence and Exploitation, a round table was organized and held on April 30, 2024, at the state educational institution "Secondary School No. 2 of Beshenkovichi named after Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Nikolaevich Tkachenko," dedicated to the topic of preventing violence against minors and protecting the sexual integrity of children.
The round table was attended by Assistant Prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District E.R. Chudakov, Chief Specialist of the Education Department of the Beshenkovichi District Executive Committee E.L. Safonova, pediatrician of the Healthcare Institution "Beshenkovichi District Central Hospital" A.A. Trubetskaya, Head of the Sector for Supporting Families who have taken in orphaned children or children left without parental care of the State Educational Institution "Beshenkovichi District Social and Pedagogical Center" A.V. Yakusheva, as well as foster parents, parent-educators, and guardians (custodians).
During the round table, issues such as the criminogenic situation regarding crimes against the sexual integrity and sexual freedom of minors, responsibility for committing crimes against the sexual integrity of minors, peculiarities of implementing the National Mechanism for Assisting Minors Affected by Sexual Violence and Exploitation by foster parents, parent-educators, guardians (custodians) in interacting with prevention entities, signs of violence against minor children, child abuse, and peculiarities of interaction with healthcare institutions for preventing crimes against the sexual integrity of minors and assisting affected minors were discussed.
Upon completion of the round table, testing was conducted among foster parents, parent-educators, and guardians (custodians) to assess their understanding of the requirements of the National Mechanism for Assisting Minors.
