The Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov the Wonderworker in Svecha celebrated its patronal feast.

The Divine Liturgy was led by Bishop Evsevy of Drutsk, Vicar of the Vitebsk Diocese.

The patronal feast of the revered saint gathered dozens of believers from all over the district. The head of the ideological work and youth affairs department, Svetlana Gaiko, came to share the joy of the divine service and congratulate the rector of the church, Alexander Markevich, and the parishioners. On behalf of the district executive committee, Svetlana Vladimirovna thanked Bishop Evsevy for the joint prayer and guidance.

As a sign of respect, the rector of the church, Alexander Markevich, presented Bishop Evsevy with an icon depicting Seraphim of Sarov. The celebration concluded with a moleben with a procession and a meal.

Today marks the 271st anniversary of the birth of the Saint whose name the church bears. In his youth, he decided to dedicate his life to serving God. During his 79 years of life, he endured many persecutions, lived as a hermit for 30 years, and performed feats of pillar-dwelling and silence.
