Prosecutor's Office of Beshenkovichi District: Detention Sanctioned in Case of Intentional Infliction of Grievous Bodily Harm in Beshenkovichi

The Prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District sanctioned the pre-trial detention of O., who is accused of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm on a local resident.

According to case materials, O., between February 26, 2023, and February 27, 2023, on the stairwell of an apartment building in Beshenkovichi, while intoxicated during an argument, inflicted a single knife wound to the chest of his neighbor K., causing grievous bodily harm. As a result, the victim was hospitalized.

Based on this incident, the Beshenkovichi District Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus initiated a criminal case against O. under Part 1 of Article 147 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. Urgent investigative actions are being carried out to establish all circumstances of the crime.

The District Prosecutor sanctioned the pre-trial detention, taking into account the nature and public danger of the act.
