Prosecutor's Office of Beshenkovichi District of Vitebsk Region Sent Criminal Case to Court Regarding Illegal Stay of Foreign Citizen in the Republic of Belarus Before Expiration of Entry Ban to the Republic of Belarus

The Prosecutor's Office of Beshenkovichi District sent a criminal case to court regarding the illegal stay of a foreign citizen in the Republic of Belarus before the expiration of the entry ban to the Republic of Belarus.

According to the case materials, in December 2020, law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Belarus decided to deport citizen F., a Russian Federation citizen with a history of multiple convictions, for committing an administrative offense, with a 5-year ban on entry into the territory of the Republic of Belarus. F. was escorted to the Russian Federation under convoy. However, before the expiration of the specified period, in the spring of 2022, F. entered the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where he stayed, including in the Beshenkovichi district of the Vitebsk region, until his detention in January of this year for committing an administrative offense.

After reviewing the materials of the criminal case, the district prosecutor's office concluded that the charges were substantiated and the circumstances of the crime were objectively investigated. They agreed with the qualification of F.'s actions under Article 371-2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

The criminal case was handled by the Beshenkovichi District Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The prosecutor, when sending the case to court, left the preventive measure applied to the accused, namely detention, unchanged.
