Prosecutor's Office of Beshenkovichi District: Detention Sanctioned in Murder Case

The Prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District sanctioned the application of a pre-trial detention measure against a 46-year-old local resident.

According to the case materials, on January 3, 2026, the suspect and his wife were at a mutual acquaintance's apartment, where they consumed alcoholic beverages throughout the day. During their interaction, a conflict arose between the spouses, during which the man inflicted at least 6 knife wounds on the victim to various parts of her body, including vital organs.

The victim died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

After committing the murder, the suspect fled but was subsequently apprehended by police officers in Vitebsk.

The criminal case under Part 1 of Article 139 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus is being handled by the Beshenkovichi District Department of the Investigative Committee.

The application of the aforementioned pre-trial measure is due to the gravity of the offense and the identity of the person involved in the criminal case.
