The Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection in the agricultural complexes of the district

In accordance with sub-paragraph 4.1 of paragraph 4 of Directive No. 6 of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated 04.03.2019 "On the Development of Rural Areas and Increasing the Efficiency of the Agricultural Sector", the heads of agricultural organizations are entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the effective development of the organization, complying with industry regulations and standards in the production of agricultural products, maintaining order, and ensuring the safety of property.

In addition, according to this Directive, the agro-industrial complex and its basic sector - agriculture - are leading system-forming spheres of the economy for our country, forming the market for agricultural products and food, food and economic security, and the labor and social potential in rural areas.

At the same time, supervisory measures carried out by the district prosecutor's office revealed a number of shortcomings and violations that negatively affect the stable development of the district's agricultural enterprises, including the reproduction of cattle (hereinafter - cattle). One of the main factors is the insufficient measures taken by enterprise managers to eliminate the causes of non-productive cattle disposal, including their death.

Thus, as of 01.05.2025, compared to the same period in 2024, in the district's agricultural enterprises, with a slight increase in the total livestock from 13270 to 13288, an increase in the number of deaths was recorded from 116 to 189. At the same time, an increase in livestock deaths was allowed in all agricultural enterprises of the district.

Based on the analysis of the causes of animal deaths, it was established that all of them are generally due to violations of feeding, housing, and rearing technologies, as well as improper organization of treatment for both adult cattle and their young.

In addition, violations caused by the negligent attitude of certain responsible officials of the district's agricultural enterprises to their duties to ensure proper livestock maintenance at livestock facilities are noteworthy, which to a certain extent is directly causally related to their morbidity and subsequent death.

Also, during the inspection of livestock facilities, the district prosecutor's office reveals facts that contribute to, and in some cases provoke, damage or theft of property by third parties, expressed in the inadequate technical strengthening of facilities where inventory is stored, as well as the absence of proper work of security guards and the negligent attitude of responsible employees of enterprises to the safety of entrusted material assets.
