Prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District Sent Criminal Case to Court Regarding Illegal Actions Involving Explosives and Ammunition, and Attempted Manufacturing of an Explosive Device

The Prosecutor of Beshenkovichi District has sent a criminal case to court concerning illegal actions involving explosives and ammunition, as well as an attempted manufacturing of an explosive device, committed by a district resident.

According to the case materials, the previously unconvicted 42-year-old B. illegally acquired a found TNT-based explosive charge of German production from the period of the Great Patriotic War near a village in the district between September 2019 and February of the current year. He then transported and stored it at his place of residence.

Subsequently, B. discovered 104 rounds of ammunition of various calibers near the same village. In addition, during the aforementioned period, the accused attempted to manufacture an explosive device by equipping the explosive charge with an initiation mechanism. Believing he had manufactured it, he stored it along with the ammunition at his place of residence until they were seized by internal affairs officers. However, B.'s criminal actions with the explosive device were not completed due to reasons beyond his control, as the improvised explosive device he manufactured was deemed unsuitable for detonation according to expert opinion.

After reviewing the criminal case materials, the prosecutor concluded that the charges were substantiated and the circumstances of the crimes were objectively investigated. He agreed with the qualification of B.'s actions under Part 2 of Article 295, Part 1 of Article 14, Part 3 of Article 295, and Part 3 of Article 295 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of

Belarus.

The criminal case was handled by the Beshenkovichi District Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The prosecutor, when sending the case to court, left unchanged the previously applied preventive measure against the accused, which was a recognizance not to leave and proper conduct.
