Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor sent a criminal case to court regarding a road accident in which two pedestrians were injured.

The Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor sent a criminal case to court, accusing a 58-year-old local resident of violating traffic rules, which negligently resulted in serious bodily harm.

According to the case materials, on November 5, 2025, in the evening, the accused was driving a Volkswagen Polo car along Tsentralnaya Street in the village of Krupenino, Beshenkovichi District. Near house No. 13, at an unregulated pedestrian crossing marked with road signs and markings, the driver failed to take measures to stop the car and hit two pedestrians.

As a result of the road accident, one victim sustained serious bodily injuries, dangerous to life, while the second pedestrian was not significantly injured.

As explained by District Prosecutor S.A. Urbanovich, the pedestrians were intoxicated and were not marked with retroreflective elements. However, in such situations, the driver, who, while operating a source of increased danger, violated traffic rules and failed to give way to pedestrians, bears criminal responsibility.

The criminal case was handled by the Beshenkovichi District Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

After reviewing the criminal case materials, the district prosecutor's office concluded that the charges were substantiated and the circumstances of the crime were objectively investigated. They agreed with the qualification of the actions under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

The district prosecutor left the previously chosen preventive measure against the accused, in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly, unchanged when sending the case to court.
