Prosecution Workers Honored the Memory of the Deceased Residents of Korenyovo Village

Before the war, a small village with the same name was located on the high western bank of Lake Korenevskoye. From above, there was a beautiful view of the lake and the pine forest on the opposite bank. In short, it was a wonderful corner of Belarusian land. The history of this place was forever changed by the war. Approximately in December 1943, Nazi executioners burned down the settlement and killed all its inhabitants (the list of victims includes more than 30 people).
The execution was distinguished by particular cruelty; residents were rounded up and burned alive in one house. To this day, the main reason for this atrocity has not been established, and is it even necessary when the lives of so many people are at stake?
Today, a memorial plaque and an obelisk at a mass grave of deceased civilians are located at the site of the village. The territory of the former village is completely overgrown with forest. Currently, it can only be reached on foot.
Prosecution workers, together with employees of the Beshenkovichi Historical and Local Lore Museum, honored the memory of the civilians, leaving flowers and a lamp. We must not forget the atrocities that the Belarusian people endured during the Great Patriotic War.
