Carrying out work using lifting cranes requires increased attention!
It is difficult to imagine a modern construction site without a lifting crane. The use of this heavy construction equipment allows for lifting operations to be carried out in the shortest possible time, significantly reducing human labor. At first glance, such equipment seems quite reliable, and this is indeed the case, but only if the requirements of industrial safety regulations are met. Timely maintenance, repair, inspection, and diagnostics are the key to safe work production at any construction site.
Indeed, on large construction sites, in factory and plant workshops, these requirements are met. Lifting cranes here are in good working order and serve for a long time. Crane operators and riggers are trained, undergo annual knowledge checks, and the industrial safety engineer strictly monitors compliance with all rules.
But what if it is necessary to perform short-term lifting operations, for example, on the territory of a factory, school, or clinic? Such a need may arise during the construction of a private house or a summer cottage!
In this case, we are most likely to search for truck crane services on the internet. And there will be many such offers online, and then the question of the price of services will arise. Due to haste, no one will even think about the safety and quality of such a service.
It should be noted that there have been tragic incidents that occurred after a specific chain of events. For example, in July 2025, at one of the enterprises, a tragic accident occurred during work with a truck crane. Due to the failure of the crane's slewing mechanism, the crane boom and the operator's cab overturned, resulting in the crane operator receiving a fatal injury. During the investigation, it was established that the truck crane belonged to an individual entrepreneur and was not registered with the State Industrial Supervision Service. The crane had not undergone technical diagnostics or technical inspection, and the operational parameters recorder, a device that should have warned about exceeding the lifting capacity, was out of order.
To prevent similar incidents at enterprises (facilities), when ordering a truck crane from a third-party organization, it is necessary to verify: the crane operator's specific driving skills, i.e., documents confirming the employee's training in crane operation; whether the truck crane is registered with the State Industrial Supervision Service; whether the crane has undergone technical inspection and diagnostics. Additionally, the crane operator must have an identification card authorizing the operation of potentially hazardous facilities with a mark of knowledge verification, and a logbook with an entry authorizing the work.
Crane owners should also remember that violation of industrial safety requirements for potentially hazardous facilities by an individual entrepreneur or an official, in the organization of work subject to state supervision, entails a fine ranging from four to twenty basic units, and for an individual entrepreneur – from ten to thirty basic units.
Comply with industrial safety regulations! Stay safe!
