Preventive work

Annually, with the onset of spring, the number of fires increases due to the burning of dry vegetation. Any carelessness with fire during this period leads to the destruction of forests, residential buildings, farm buildings, and sometimes to loss of life.

To prevent fires caused by the burning of dry vegetation, employees of the Beshenkovichi District Department for Emergency Situations conduct raid activities. The next raids by rescuers took place in the territories of the Verkhovskoye and Verkhnekrivinskoye rural councils.

— Untimely removal of dry vegetation from territories adjacent to residential buildings is a potential source of ignition, — explains Vitaly Golets, head of the Beshenkovichi District Department for Emergency Situations. — In other words, if the area is tidy, there will be nothing to burn: grass mowed on time, territory cleared — nothing is threatened. As long as there is combustible material, there will be an ignition source. Of course, the issue is not resolved instantly; this is planned work that requires constant control by the owners themselves.

During the raid activities, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again

citizens were reminded of the need to observe the required distances from bonfires to buildings, forest areas, and stacks of hay and straw. They were also informed about the administrative liability for burning dry vegetation, standing crops, stubble, and post-harvest residues in fields, or for failure to take measures to extinguish such fires, as well as for making bonfires in prohibited areas.

During the conversation, EMERCOM employees cited sad examples from last year, when the carelessness of certain citizens led to them themselves receiving burns and the ignition of outbuildings.
