A child takes an example from you – parents
During the summer, with the start of the holidays, your children face increased danger on the roads, near water bodies, in the forest, on playgrounds, in the garden, and in courtyards.
For children to have a restful, healthy, and safe holiday, it is necessary to remember a set of rules and conditions when organizing their leisure time:
be constantly aware of where your child is and with whom, monitor their whereabouts and duration of stay;
it is necessary to remember your child's safety rules at home:
do not leave a child alone in an apartment with electrical appliances turned on, block access to electrical outlets, and prevent the child from coming into contact with the gas stove and matches;
Do not leave window and balcony frames open, even if mosquito nets are present, as they have unstable structures;
Limit and supervise the child's internet communication;
Do not allow the child to talk to strangers;
Explain that they have every right to say "no" always and to anyone, if that "someone" tries to harm them;
Explain to children that under no circumstances should they get into a car with strangers;
Convince the child that regardless of what happened, you must know about the incident, do not get angry under any circumstances, and always take their side;
Explain that some facts should never be kept secret, even if they promised to keep them confidential;
Swimming and playing in water, in addition to enjoyment, pose a threat to children's lives and health:
When the child is in the water, do not take your eyes off them, do not get distracted, as a minute can turn into a tragedy;
Be sure to explain to children that they should not swim alone, nor dive in unfamiliar places;
to avoid becoming a victim or perpetrator of a road traffic accident, educate children on traffic rules, teach them to be extremely attentive on the road and in public transport;
pay attention to possible cases of fires due to careless handling of fire:
children's pranks, unextinguished campfires, grass fires;
exercise caution and observe all safety requirements when with children on a playground or sports ground, or during a hike;
study traffic rules with children, as well as rules for riding bicycles, roller skates, scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles;
please remember that children under 14 years of age are prohibited from riding bicycles on motorways and similar roads, and children under 16 years of age are prohibited from riding scooters (mopeds, ATVs);
in the late evening and at night (from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM local time), children and adolescents are legally prohibited from being on the street without adult supervision.
Remember!
A child takes example from you – the parents. Let your example teach your child disciplined behavior on the street and at home. Try to do everything possible to protect children from accidents.
