🗺️ Geography

Beshenkovichi District was formed on July 17, 1924.

It is located in the center of Vitebsk Region and borders with Vitebsk, Shumilino, Ushachi, Lepel, Chashniki, and Senno districts. It is situated 54 km from Vitebsk and 210 km from the capital of the Republic of Belarus - Minsk.

The total area is 1,250 sq. km.

There are 55 lakes in the district, the largest of which are Sarro, Borovno, Beloye, Ostrovenskoye, Slobodskoye, and Gorodno.

The largest river is the Western Dvina and its tributaries: Ulla, Svechanka, Krivinka, Berezka.

Forests, predominantly pine, spruce, and mixed, occupy 20% of the district's territory.

Administratively, the district is divided into 7 rural councils, comprising 239 settlements.
