From February 15 to 16, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Beshenkovichi District Department of Internal Affairs is conducting a preventive event "Buckled Up Children – Saved Lives!", the purpose of which is to prevent child road traffic injuries.
Since the beginning of the current year, 2 traffic accidents have already been registered, in which 1 child died and 2 were injured. And in 2025, there were 24 such traffic accidents involving minors, 5 children died, and 31 were injured.
"A child in a car must be in a special restraint device corresponding to their weight and height," reminds drivers Senior Inspector of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the District Department of Internal Affairs Alexander Kazak. "A car seat or booster must be installed correctly in the car. Children over 12 years old must be fastened with standard seat belts."
Traffic police officers urge parents to remind their children that they should not suddenly step out or run onto the road from behind parked cars, trees, bushes, or structures, even if the road is located in an area adjacent to residential buildings.
And drivers are urged to be extremely attentive when driving near children's institutions, passing unregulated pedestrian crossings, public transport stops, and in courtyards.
