From August 23, 2022, due to the complex fire hazard situation, a ban on visiting forests has been introduced in all districts of the Vitebsk region

   The main reason for the ban is the high fire hazard class due to hot weather. During this period, the following are prohibited on the territory of the forest fund:
- presence of citizens;
- entry of vehicles, with the exception of vehicles of legal entities engaged in forestry, and bodies exercising control in accordance with Article 106 of the Forest Code of the Republic of Belarus, as well as forces ensuring national security listed in paragraph 60 of the Concept of National Security of the Republic of Belarus, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of November 9, 2010 No. 575;
- carrying out work not related to forestry.

    Violation of fire safety requirements in forests or peatlands, or a ban on visiting them, which did not cause damage, entails a fine of up to 12 base units (Article 16.21 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses). If the violation leads to the destruction or damage of forests or peatlands, the fine increases to 30 base units.
