From August 24 to 31, the Beshenkovichi traffic police will conduct a preventive event

Pedestrians and cyclists are still considered the most vulnerable and unprotected road users, for whom the road poses many dangers and threats, especially when basic traffic rules are not observed. Unfortunately, there are quite often cases where pedestrians run across the roadway in an unauthorized place, walk on the roadway while intoxicated, and at night walk along the road without reflective elements and are completely invisible. It is precisely such a negligent and irresponsible attitude towards one's own life and health that often leads to serious tragedies on the road!

By the way, for 7 months of the current year, 58 road traffic accidents involving pedestrians were registered in the region, in which 13 people died and 45 received injuries of varying severity. Since the beginning of August, 13 traffic accidents involving vulnerable road users have occurred in the Vitebsk region, resulting in one death and 13 injuries. Of the 13 traffic accidents, 6 occurred in rural areas. As for Beshenkovichchina, 3 traffic accidents were registered here in 7 months, in which 2 people died and one was injured.

Thus, with the aim of preventing road traffic accidents involving vulnerable road users, as well as timely response to the deterioration of traffic conditions, from August 24 to 31, traffic police officers will conduct a preventive event, within the framework of which extensive information and explanatory work will be organized on the rules of safe behavior on the road for both pedestrians and cyclists, and drivers! Patrols will be carried out, work will be done on unregulated pedestrian crossings, as well as performances in work collectives, where special emphasis will be placed on explaining the innovations in the traffic rules, which will come into force on October 27, 2022.
