From November 27 to December 5, the State Automobile Inspectorate is holding the republican preventive campaign "Change Your Style to Winter!"

The events are aimed at preventing and averting road traffic accidents in winter conditions and promoting the use of winter tires.

Until the end of the month, inspectors are focused on informing drivers about the need for seasonal tire changes. With the start of calendar winter, they will monitor the timeliness of vehicle preparation for the season. From December 1, drivers are obliged to replace summer tires on all wheels. Violation of this requirement will result in a fine of up to 1 basic unit (40 rubles), and for repeated violation within a year – from 2 to 5 basic units (80-200 rubles).

For the frosty season, it is necessary to prepare not only the vehicle but also to switch to a winter, calmer, and more careful driving style. Sharp movements and maneuvers should be avoided, especially near pedestrian crossings, on curves, and on exposed road sections. Choose the safest speed mode considering the road surface condition and weather conditions. Increase the following distance and fasten seat belts for everyone in the car.

It is important for pedestrians to be especially attentive when crossing the roadway. Look around, avoid sudden movements, be predictable for drivers, and use retroreflective elements to make yourselves visible.
