Today, the country is holding a Unified Road Safety Day under the slogan "The road does not forgive mistakes"

The campaign is aimed at preventing road traffic accidents with severe consequences.

"Most of these incidents," states Senior Inspector of the traffic police department of Beshenkovichi District Department of Internal Affairs Alexander Kazak, "occur because drivers and pedestrians forget about traffic rules and do not respect each other on the road."

The most serious violations of traffic rules leading to severe accidents on the part of drivers are:
speeding,
violation of overtaking and intersection rules,
failure to yield to pedestrians at crosswalks,
driving under the influence or without a driving license,
failure to use child restraint systems when transporting minor passengers.

Dangerous violations by pedestrians include:
crossing the roadway in an unauthorized place or against a red traffic signal,
suddenly entering the road from behind vehicles,
walking on the road under the influence of alcohol,
failure to use reflective elements in the dark.

The endless disputes among road users about who is right and who is wrong will lead nowhere. It is necessary to know and observe the traffic rules.
