On the eve of the professional holiday, Olga Alekseeva, a 5th-category livestock breeder at GP "PolitotdelAgro", has been nominated for an award of Gratitude from the Chairman of the District Executive Committee. Based on the results of work for 10 months of the current year, the average daily weight gain in her group is 859 grams, or 115% compared to 2024 – a result that reflects the immense hard work and colossal responsibility of a rural worker!

Olga Vladimirovna has not been working in animal husbandry for very long. The secret to her success lies in the meticulous care of the animals, proper feeding, attentive attitude towards each calf, and the ability to notice the slightest changes in their behavior and take necessary measures in a timely manner.

Raising young stock during the prophylactic period is one of the most responsible and complex stages in raising cattle. Alekseeva's group currently has 36 calves aged from birth to two months. They are very young, so the livestock breeder treats them like little children: feeding them, giving them milk, and caring for them. And the calves, feeling the woman's love and care, delight with a good appetite and grow rapidly.

"I am grateful to my elder sister Elena," says Olga Vladimirovna. "She worked as a calf tender at the farm for 13 years, retired, and now helps with advice and practical support. I also have personal experience; I always keep two cows at my homestead..."

Olga Vladimirovna was born and raised in Russia. When she finished school, her parents moved to a permanent place of residence in the Lepel district. She received a degree in agronomy at the Luzhesnyan Agricultural College. She worked in her specialty in the Lepel region at a subsidiary farm in Karayevichi, but not for long. After getting married and having three children, she had to change her profession. "The profession of an agronomist," she says, "is more of a man's job; during the season, you have to be in the field all day, and my family was waiting at home."
