A seminar-meeting with the management staff of precinct commissions for the election of the President of Belarus was held at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
The event was attended by the Chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin, the Deputy Chairman of the regional executive committee Vyacheslav Durnov, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Election Commission Dmitry Khoma, and the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the regional executive committee Andrey Lyubimov.
Alexander Subbotin thanked everyone present for participating in the election campaign, including the chairmen and secretaries of the precinct election commissions from several districts, who will directly organize the voting process on the ground.
– Elections are a key political event that will determine the future of all of Belarus, which is especially important given what is happening on the world political stage, – emphasized Alexander Subbotin. – The attention of tens of thousands of citizens is now focused on you and your work. You know perfectly well how important and, at times, difficult it is, despite external pressure, to remain loyal to the law and the Belarusian people. And you are undoubtedly coping with this. Work calmly, confidently; in case of emergency situations, law enforcement officers will come to your aid.
– In general, a large number of commission members are involved, so we will hold such events in four territorial zones over four days to cover the region as much as possible, – said Dmitry Khoma. – They will be attended by the chairmen and secretaries of the precinct election commissions, who will directly organize the voting process on the ground. As of today, the lists of citizens eligible to participate in the elections should be finalized. Every citizen has the right to check today whether they are included in the list. This is a key moment. The preparation of the polling stations is completed; tomorrow is the last day when materials about the presidential candidates must be posted there. The task of the regional commission is to ensure that every citizen living in the Vitebsk region can exercise their electoral right and that equal conditions are created for everyone: both for voters and for presidential candidates.
Within the established deadlines, 26 territorial commissions (regional, 21 district, Novopolotsk city, and 3 district in Vitebsk) were formed in the region for the elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus, comprising 287 individuals. District and city executive committees established 672 polling stations and an equal number of precinct commissions for the elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus, with over 8,000 individuals included in their composition.
