Sergey Levkovich held a personal reception of citizens in Vitebsk
Residents of the northern region approached the Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Sergey Levkovich with pressing problems, complaints about the inaction of responsible services, disagreement with decisions made, and personal issues.
For example, for a year now, residents of house No. 59 on Lenin Street have been struggling with basement flooding from sewage. Periodically, the smell of feces is noticeable when approaching the entrance. People call the "115" service, the housing and communal services department No. 1, and emergency repair services. Some work is being done, but the problem is not being solved. Residents of the neighboring house, No. 61, also appealed to the President's assistant with a similar complaint. Sergey Levkovich instructed the city authorities to thoroughly address this issue.
– I have repeatedly been approached about basement flooding in various districts of the regional center. Serious measures must be taken to prevent such complaints, – noted the Assistant to the President.
The Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Alexey Geroev explained that starting this year, the "Basements" program will be implemented. It includes 70 houses, and 3 million has been allocated for the work.
Individual entrepreneur Andrey Abramovich raised a relevant topic.
– Since 2019, we have been improving the beach on Lake Polonskoye in the Vitebsk district. We have cleaned the bottom. We provide various services: gazebo rental, banana boat rides. Our services are free for children from the local school. Many people come here for recreation. On sunny days, more than a thousand people gather on the beach. This is according to data from the OSVOD (Water Rescue Service), which has set up its post here. And now they want to lease the lake, make entry paid, and claim everything that we have done over seven years, – said the entrepreneur.
– The issue of leasing lakes periodically arises. In my opinion, in this matter, local authorities need to study the situation from various angles and be guided by the interests of the citizens living in the nearby settlements. I see no need to lease Lake Polonskoye. Everything is improved there, the beach is maintained in good condition, and the shoreline is cultivated, – Sergey Levkovich expressed his opinion.
Analyzing all the appeals, the Assistant to the President concluded that it is impossible to fully satisfy the needs of the citizens who approached him. Some have already gone through judicial instances and received responses from the prosecutor's office. This means that these issues have already been worked out quite seriously.
– However, it has been decided to further study the issues raised and provide maximum assistance to citizens without infringing on the interests of other people. There were appeals related to housing and communal services. It is evident that systematic work has begun in this direction, and certain funds have been allocated for the repair of engineering networks of residential buildings. In resolving any issues, one must be guided by the interests of the people, – emphasized Sergey Levkovich.
