Sergey Mityansky: The contribution of the business community to the formation of a strong and effective economy of the country cannot be overestimated
Today, December 2, 2022, the award ceremony for the winners of the National Competition "Entrepreneur of the Year" was held. The ceremony was attended by Valery Belsky, Aide to the President of the Republic of Belarus for Financial and Credit System Development, Sergey Mityansky, Deputy Minister of Economy, heads of republican and local government bodies, business associations, and business circles.
As Sergey Mityansky noted in his congratulatory speech, the award ceremony for the winners of the "Entrepreneur of the Year" competition has been held in a solemn atmosphere for over twenty years.
"The contribution of the business community to the formation of a strong and effective economy of the country is invaluable. SMEs have been increasing their share in the country's gross domestic product, exports of goods and services, and retail and wholesale turnover for many years. And this is thanks to the fact that, despite difficulties and obstacles, you are always determined to implement your ideas. With your selfless work, you vividly demonstrate how to be truly successful, prosperous, and worthy of the title of the best.
Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on your victory and wishes for endurance, perseverance, stability, and prosperity," the Deputy Head of the economic department concluded.
Based on the results of 2021, the competition was traditionally held in five nominations: "Successful Start," "Stable Success," "Effective Business in Production," "Effective Business in Services," and "Effective Individual Business." Based on the performance indicators of the competition participants, 34 winners from the regions and the city of Minsk were determined in each nomination. The list of winners is posted on the website of the Ministry of Economy.
The winners were awarded diplomas "Winner of the National Competition 'Entrepreneur of the Year'" and commemorative prizes.
Special words of appreciation and the "Honored Entrepreneur" diplomas were awarded to LLC "Resourcecontrol Group of Companies" and LLC "KimaBel". These organizations became the winners of the National "Entrepreneur of the Year" competition for two consecutive years.
The Ministry of Economy wishes both the winners and the entire business sector further prosperity and success. The National "Entrepreneur of the Year" competition has been held since 2016 and continues the traditions of the "Best Entrepreneur" competition, which was held from the end of 1997. The main goal of preparing and conducting the competition is to develop entrepreneurial initiative and stimulate the business activity of the population. The competition is participated by representatives of small and medium-sized businesses (large businesses can also participate in the "Stable Success" nomination, while only individual entrepreneurs can participate in the "Effective Individual Business" nomination), in which the state's share in the authorized capital does not exceed 50 percent. The winners of the competition among entrepreneurs who applied for participation are determined by organizational committees created in each region and the city of Minsk, based on objective criteria – performance results.
