Police service

Citizens of the Republic of Belarus who have reached the age of majority, who are capable of performing the tasks assigned to the internal affairs bodies by their moral and business qualities, health status, and education level, are accepted for service in the internal affairs bodies on a voluntary basis. A contract is concluded with an employee for a period of 1 to 5 years, uniform is issued, and salary is calculated depending on the position held, special rank, and length of service. Employees of the internal affairs bodies have a number of benefits and advantages, including the opportunity to retire at the age of 48, obtain higher education in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the expense of the budget, preferential lending for housing construction, provision of rental housing, medical care for the employee and his family members in medical institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including benefits for sanatorium-resort treatment.
 Monetary compensation for accommodation under a residential lease agreement is provided. Initial training is conducted at the educational institution "Center for Professional Development of Managers and Specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus". Cadets are fully state-provided (food, uniform, accommodation, scholarship payment).
