Main Functions

The State Medical and Prophylactic Institution "Beshenkovichi District Veterinary Station" performs the following functions:

  • prevention and eradication of infectious and non-infectious animal diseases (including birds, fur-bearing animals, zoo animals, fish, and bees) by conducting special veterinary, veterinary-sanitary, anti-epizootic, and other measures on livestock farms and complexes, in peasant (farm) households, private subsidiary farms of citizens, subsidiary farms of industrial enterprises, and other legal and physical entities;
  • organization and conduct of laboratory diagnostic tests;
  • treatment of sick animals;
  • protection of animals from the effects of extreme natural and man-made factors;
  • protection of the population from diseases common to humans and animals;
  • control of the veterinary and sanitary quality of animal products intended for food and processing;
  • conducting independent veterinary and sanitary examination of meat, eggs, leather and fur raw materials, fish farming and beekeeping products, other products of animal origin at enterprises for their production, processing and storage, as well as at markets and other places where trade in these products is permitted;
  • veterinary and sanitary supervision of the keeping, procurement and slaughter of animals, procurement, storage and processing of meat, milk, eggs, wool, hides, furs and other products of animal origin;
  • control over the compliance of legal entities and individuals with veterinary legislation.
