The State Educational Institution "Ostroveno Children's Art School" was opened in 1987 in the territory of the Ostroveno rural council, Beshenkovichi district, Vitebsk region. Initially, it was a music school, but with the opening of choral and choreographic departments, it was transformed into a children's art school. In 2012, it received the status of a legal entity. Ostroveno Children's Art School is located in the building of the Ostroveno Rural House of Culture. The school has 5 classrooms, including a choreography class and a choir class, and an auditorium.

The school operates in the following areas:

  • Musical (accordion, piano, balalaika, guitar, pop music)
  • Choreographic

Students of the art school are involved in creative auditions, participate in concert activities in educational and cultural institutions of the district and region.

Great attention is paid to conducting educational activities with students, and constant communication with parents is maintained (parent-teacher meetings by class).

The school staff collaborates with general education institutions and cultural institutions of the agro-town. Students and teachers of Ostrovno Children's Art School participate in folk rituals: Kolyady, Maslenitsa, Kupalye. Annually, during the summer period, the school staff actively participates in village festivals.

The art school conducts work on the spiritual and moral education of students. The teaching staff cooperates with Archpriest Andrey (Doroshchenko), the rector of the Holy Trinity Church located in Ostrovno village, and primary school teachers Klementyeva E.A. and Sharko V.N. from the State Educational Institution "Ostrovno Secondary School named after K.A. Abazovsky".

The school has two creative groups: the folk ensemble "Vocalise" and a children's dance group.

The administration and teaching staff of the school put a lot of effort into engaging students and parents in the need to develop children's creative abilities and the importance of studying at the Children's Art School.
