The Belarusian Red Cross Society (BRCS) is a voluntary republican public association established on June 6, 1921, based on the common interests of citizens, with the aim of alleviating human suffering, solving social problems, and providing assistance to victims of armed conflicts and individuals affected by emergencies.

The Belarusian Red Cross is an integral part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. In its activities, it is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Public Associations", the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Belarusian Red Cross", the BRCS Charter, as well as the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, namely: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

What is amazing about the history of the Red Cross is that one person had an idea to help vulnerable people, and this idea grew into the International Red Cross Movement.

The emblem of the Red Cross and Red Crescent – a red cross, a red crescent, or a red crystal on a white background – are universally recognized symbols of assistance to victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters, a distinctive sign used in peacetime and wartime to indicate a person's or object's affiliation with the Movement.

The main mission of the BRCS is to protect and improve the life and health of the population by mobilizing the humanitarian potential of society and ensuring respect for the individual. It contributes to uniting the efforts of people receiving assistance, volunteers, and donors who make financial contributions. By acting in this way, the Red Cross helps people become stronger, solve community problems, and promotes solidarity and cooperation.

Humanitarian activity is an extremely important endeavor. Its social relevance and public significance are characterized by the fact that, thanks to hundreds of caring people, assistance is provided to the sick, disabled, elderly lonely citizens, and those living in poverty. A person who voluntarily contributes to this charitable cause has a big heart that knows how to empathize and adheres to a noble life position – understanding that there is no such thing as someone else's misfortune. And it is very pleasant to realize that such people exist in our district, and their voluntary assistance contributes to the common cause of charity and compassion.

The Grodno Children's Hospice is conducting a survey on the degree of parental involvement in raising and supporting children in our country.

A survey conducted among 82 parents under the organization's care in 2018 revealed a number of problems in families raising healthy children and children with disabilities. To further study family problems, a questionnaire was developed, the purpose of which is to study the degree of parental involvement in the upbringing and maintenance of children, including children with disabilities.
