Special comprehensive event «Teenager»

 

  In order to stabilize the crime situation, ensure control over the behavior of minors during the autumn holidays, prevent them from committing offenses, and eliminate the causes and conditions that contribute to negative phenomena in the territory of the urban settlement of Beshenkovichi and the Beshenkovichi district, the comprehensive preventive measure "Teenager" will be carried out from October 31 to November 04, 2019.   

Committing crimes is aimed at satisfying hypertrophied leisure needs and interests. Leisure activities are associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages, drugs, engaging in sexual relations, etc. As research shows, the vast majority of juvenile offenders are individuals with habits, inclinations, and stable stereotypes of antisocial behavior.

 Juvenile Crime Prevention

Immediate prevention of criminal behavior includes measures to normalize living and upbringing conditions, improve the environment, and at the same time significantly intensify the influence on the minor themselves, including, if necessary, the application of legal measures. In this case, juvenile inspection units identify and eliminate the circumstances under which specific minors commit crimes, and work to correct them. Juvenile offenders are registered with the juvenile inspection units, where educational work is carried out with them and control is exercised to prevent them from committing crimes.

The following complex of measures should be included here:

- timely identification and registration of minors prone to committing offenses, as well as persons involving minors in committing unlawful, anti-social actions;

- carrying out measures to disaggregate criminal (asocial) groups

minors; study, as well as, if necessary, conducting educational work with minors with the participation of public associations.

Particular importance is attached to the prevention of recidivism: control is exercised over the behavior of juvenile offenders, their associations, leisure activities, and attitude towards studies and work. The main purpose of the listed measures is to identify and eliminate factors contributing to antisocial and unlawful behavior in all main spheres of a child's life.
