The republican campaign "Children in the Spotlight!" is launching
How much time does a child need to get matches from a cupboard, turn on an electrical appliance, hide from prying eyes, and start a fire? There is only one correct answer to these and similar questions – absolutely none, if parents are closely watching their child and do not leave them unattended.
Unfortunately, statistics show that the majority of "fire" injuries sustained by children are caused by two reasons: the restless curiosity of toddlers and the negligence of adults. And if it is impossible to forbid a young person from exploring the surrounding world, then it is within everyone's power to take care of their safety in advance.
The preventive campaign "Focus on Children!" is aimed at drawing public attention to the problem of child deaths and injuries from fires due to leaving children unattended. It starts on August 21 and runs until September 15.
Its first stage will take place from August 21 to August 31 in retail outlets specializing in the sale of goods for preschool and school-aged children. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with activists from the Belarusian Youth Public Safety Movement (BYPSM) and the Children and Youth Public Safety Movement (CYPSM), will remind parents of the dangers of leaving children unattended and advise them on how to protect their families from emergencies.
The second stage of the campaign – from September 1 to September 15 – will be held in educational institutions of the district. Safety lessons, interactive platforms, contests, and gifts – all this and much more awaits all its participants!
