During the Year of Improvement, three socially significant facilities have been built and renovated in Lepel region.
According to Veronika Khombak, Deputy Chairman of the Lepel District Executive Committee, the most significant project is being implemented in Domzheritsy – the central estate of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, which has the status of a "Village of the Future," is almost ready to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the specially protected natural territory. Large-scale work has been carried out on the reconstruction and construction of facilities aimed at developing scientific, ecological, educational, and tourist activities, as well as at the social development of the settlement. A multi-apartment building has also been erected here, which will help solve the housing issue for young specialists – 26 people have been assigned here this year. Domzheritsy has a good kindergarten, school, FAP (Feldsher-Accoucheur Station), and an art school. A
– Borovka is a unique resort area for us, – emphasizes Veronika Khombak. – The military sanatorium and "Zhemchuzhina" are located nearby. It was pleasant to hear the opinions of Russians who admired both the transformation of the beach and, in general, the social orientation of our state.
The former military town is famous for its army traditions. Festive events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people over the German-fascist invaders in the region began with the opening of a memorial sign in Borovka for the cadets and commanders of the Lepel Infantry and Lepel Rifle and Mortar Schools.
